Mother's Day Lesson Ideas

Mother’s Day is coming up this Sunday 8th of May. Please make sure you have this special date marked in your diary!

To mark the occasion in the classroom, we have found some fun and engaging lesson ideas for the occasion to keep up your sleeve when out relief teaching!

This occasion can be sensitive so just remember to be mindful and considerate of different family situations of students you may be with.

Below is a link for a letter writing activity which is more conclusive to students as they can be given a choice to either write to their father, mother, guardian, caregiver, or someone special if sensitivity is the case. This resources can also be used on Father's Day later in September.

We have also found this creative 3D pop-up Tulip Card that will make a heart-warming Mother’s Day! The website provides you with materials that are needed, step by step instructions. We have also attached the tutorial video on how to make this beautiful card.

Below is a link with Mother's Day Colouring Template Cards which would be perfect for some Mindfulness colouring or as an early finisher task for students.

May all mothers and new mothers have a special day dedicated to you on Sunday!
